Brazil and China are comprehensive strategic partners, and bilateral cooperation is not limited to the economic and trade fields. The Brazilian side is willing to conduct all-round cooperation with the Chinese side. I look forward to my visit to China in the coming October, and wish to warmly welcome President Xi Jinping at the BRICS Summit in Brazil in November. It is hoped that the two countries will further promote mutual benefit and win-win results through high-level exchanges to open up new prospects for Brazil-China relations and benefit the two peoples.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's sincere greetings to Jair Bolsonaro and expressed welcome to Jair Bolsonaro for his coming visit to China in October. This visit is to make political preparations for the next stage of high-level exchanges between the two sides. There is neither historical issue nor conflict of current interests between China and Brazil. The two countries are highly complementary to each other and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation, and it is entirely possible for us to achieve common development and prosperity. The Chinese side is ready to take the opportunity of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Brazil diplomatic relationship, to elevate the bilateral relations to new highs and set it as an example for China-Latin America cooperation, cooperation among emerging markets and South-South cooperation. The two sides should continue to expand cooperation in traditional areas of agriculture, oil and gas and infrastructure construction, and also actively explore new areas of cooperation such as scientific and technological innovation and digital economy. Attaching importance to the Brazilian side's important position and influence in Latin America, the Chinese side hopes that the two sides can work together to propel China-Latin America cooperation and the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States. The Chinese side is ready to fully support the Brazilian side successfully hosting the BRICS Summit in November.
On the same day, Wang Yi also held the third China-Brazil Foreign Ministerial-level Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue with Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo of Brazil.
