|Wang Yi Meets with President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade Yohei Kono|
On April 17, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing with the delegation headed by President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yohei Kono.
Wang Yi introduced the main outcomes from the recent China-Japan high-level economic dialogue and from bilateral cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative. He stressed that under the new circumstances, the two sides have seen increasing common interests and cooperation potential. It is hoped that Japanese economic circles can seize opportunity to continuously expand investment in China, and actively participate in China-Japan third-party market cooperation, so as to play a positive role in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative.
Speaking highly of the outcomes from Japan-China high-level economic dialogue, Yohei Kono expressed that Japanese business circles generally have confidence in the cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and expect to work with the Chinese side to actively implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, and focus on advancing third-party market cooperation to promote relations between the two countries for constant and forward-looking development on the right track.
