On the evening of June 2, 2021, President Xi Jinping had a phone conversation with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Xi Jinping pointed out, China and Kazakhstan are permanent comprehensive strategic partners, and the friendship is of solid foundation and strong driving force. This year is of special significance to both China and Kazakhstan. The Communist Party of China (CPC) will celebrate its 100th anniversary and Kazakhstan will embrace the 30th anniversary of the independence. China stands ready to work with Kazakhstan to advance cooperation in various areas, and move forward the bilateral relations along the right track, making bilateral ties even better and people-to-people ties even closer, and heralding a promising future for the development of the two countries.

Xi Jinping emphasized, the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Kazakhstan brings tangible benefits to the two peoples, and sets a good example for international community. Both sides should promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen cooperation in fields such as production capacity, trade, agriculture, and infrastructure, upgrade connectivity, and foster new cooperation growth points in green energy, AI, e-commerce, and digital finance, jointly building the "Green Silk Road", "Health Silk Road", and "Digital Silk Road". China will deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan in fields such as telemedicine, and traditional medicine, and continue to provide assistance and support for Kazakhstan's fight against the pandemic. Both sides shall strengthen cooperation in areas such as law enforcement, security, and defense, so as to jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in this region.

Tokayev congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has made historic achievements, and the Chinese people are marching on a journey toward the realization of the Two Centenary Goals and the Chinese Dream of great national renewal. A host of major initiatives and propositions put forth by China have been praised and supported by the international community. In particular, the COVID-19 outbreak further attests to the significance and necessity of China's proposal of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and also enriches the Belt and Road Initiative with new elements consistent with changing times. The two countries are truly permanent comprehensive strategic partners. Kazakhstan will never do anything that is detrimental to the interests of China under any circumstance. Kazakhstan thanks China for offering valuable support such as vaccines in its fight against the pandemic, and it will work with China to consolidate and deepen bilateral ties, advance Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen cooperation in areas of economy and trade, infrastructure, and health, and increase communication and collaboration under the regional and international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
