Han Zheng Meets with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand

On April 26, 2019, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier Han Zheng met with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Han Zheng said that President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, during which he elaborated the Chinese side's concept of promoting high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and announced a series of major measures for reform and opening up. The Chinese side highly appreciates the wonderful speech delivered by Mr. Prime Minister at the high-level meeting. China-Thailand cooperation enjoys broad prospects. The Chinese side is ready to continue to strengthen high-level exchanges and deepen practical cooperation with the Thai side to push for new progress in bilateral relations.

Prayut Chan-o-cha congratulated on the successful opening of the forum and said that the Belt and Road Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping is of great significance to regional and world development. The Thai side fully supports the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and is willing to work with the Chinese side to advance regional connectivity and cooperation. As the rotating chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Thai side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to push for further development of ASEAN-China cooperation.
