Yang Jiechi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Alie Kabba of Sierra Leone

On January 11, 2019, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Alie Kabba of Sierra Leone in Beijing.

Yang Jiechi noted that President Xi Jinping and President Julius Maada Bio reached important consensus during their talks on the sidelines of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation last year. We are willing to, together with the Sierra Leonean side, consolidate traditional friendship, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen comprehensive cooperation, and intensify coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to safeguard the common interests of the two countries and developing countries.

Alie Kabba expressed that President Julius Maada Bio's visit to China last year was a complete success. Regarding China as a sincere friend and a trustworthy partner, the Sierra Leonean side stands ready to promote bilateral relations for constant and forward-looking development with the Chinese side.
